Bryggejentene AS

The combination of homemade baking and cooking, a cosy interior and a spectacular view into Ersfjord? Sounds like a dream, but Bryggejentene makes it reality.

Why I recommend it

These are exactly the kinds of cafés and restaurants I hope to find while traveling. It feels warm and local, the surroundings are spectacular, and being able to sit by the water with a coffee and something freshly baked makes it more than worth a visit. And it’s not just the baking that is worth coming for. Their lunch menu is also a must-try if you’re a little more hungry. Bryggejentene is not only about food and coffee either. There is also a small shop filled with interior must-haves and plenty of other things you didn’t know you needed. It turns the whole place into much more than just a coffee or lunch stop.

What to do

What to order really depends on what you’re in the mood for. Craving something small? Go for a coffee and choose whichever cake or pastry looks best. Craving something more? The lunch menu gives you plenty of options. I found it hard enough to make a choice myself, so... good luck.

Good to know

If the weather is nice, I completely understand wanting to spend as much time outside as possible, but don’t forget to have a look inside the building as well — that’s where you’ll find the shop. And just like some of the other small cafés in the area, opening times can be limited. Make sure to check whether they’re open before making the drive.
