Quick local lunch & traditional Sicilian bakery food

A tiny local bakery in Scicli serving fresh focaccia, bread and traditional scacce, perfect for a quick and very Sicilian lunch stop.
Why I recommend it
I love places like this because there’s very little ceremony around the food. You simply walk in, see what has been baked that day and choose whatever looks best. It feels genuinely local rather than designed for visitors, and it’s a great way to try the kind of everyday Sicilian food you might otherwise completely miss. Don’t be fooled by the people waiting outside of the bakery, it is very small inside and the line goes fast!
What to do
Expect focaccia, breads and filled baked specialties rather than a traditional restaurant menu. One of the things to look for is scaccia, a typical specialty from the Ragusa area: thin dough folded over itself with different fillings and baked until crisp on the outside. The one we had looked to be vegetable-filled and was exactly the kind of thing I hoped to find in this part of Sicily.
Good to know
PanDiviNo works best as a breakfast or lunch stop rather than somewhere for a long sit-down meal. The selection depends on what has been baked that day, so part of the fun is simply seeing what is available when you arrive. It also fits perfectly into a day exploring Scicli, pick something up here and then continue wandering through the historic centre. They don’t have any seating options inside the bakery.
